By using Markdown+, you agree to the privacy practices described below. We've kept this policy short and plain — your data should stay yours, and we collect as little of it as possible.
Markdown+ processes everything locally on your Mac. The app does not include any analytics, tracking, telemetry, or background reporting. We do not see what you do inside the app, what files you open, or how often you use it.
If you purchased Markdown+ from the Mac App Store, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple — we do not receive your name, email, or payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy.
If you purchased a direct license through Paddle, Paddle acts as our merchant of record and processes the payment on our behalf. Paddle's privacy policy applies: paddle.com/legal/privacy. We receive only the minimum information necessary to issue and validate your license (typically your email address).
The app may offer an optional in-app prompt to subscribe to our newsletter. This is strictly opt-in — we will never subscribe you automatically. If you choose to subscribe, we collect your email address (and a small set of related fields) through our email service provider, MailerLite. Full details — including what is stored, the lawful basis under GDPR, and how to exercise your rights — are documented in our main privacy policy below.
If your build includes Sparkle for in-app updates, the app periodically checks our server for a new version. This request includes standard information like your macOS version and the app version, used solely to serve the correct update. No personal identifiers are sent.
